Our History

1992

Beginning

Jerry Wilson identifies need for smaller scale steel distribution without minimum orders in Greenville area.

1993

Opening

Jerry Wilson and Ken Spooner partner to crate Specialty Steels Inc. While Jerry has large-scale distribution background, Ken brings a knowledge of fabrication

1994

On the Move

Following a very successsful first year, a larger facility in a better location was required. The business moves to its current location in Donaldson Center

1998

Expansion

As the business continued to grow, Wade Wilson was brought on as a future business partner

2005

Transition

Wade buys the interest of both Ken and Jerry to become sole owner.

2016

Aquisition

To expand their products and better serve customers, Specialty Steels Inc aquired Metal Shapes and Alloys.

The Future

With over 25 years of service to the upstate, we continue to see annual growth. We look forward to serving our local customers for many years to come.

Deliveries

For an additional fee, we are able to make local deliveries. We have a fleet of trucks including a rollback, flatbed, and pickup truck so that we can deliver any of our products to any of your locations.
